Remake Or Not To Remake, That Is The Question....THE REMAKE!!

I don't know what is up with me today but here I go again with yet another post....

Maybe I'm ill, maybe I'm bored, maybe I'm just lonely (aww) Ahem anyways.....

Last night I was sat here and I was thinking as to how to do the next part of this article and I started researching remakes and started making a few notes...

There have been 100's and 100's of remakes, the majority being horror films (which I'll touch mostly upon in the next part) and foreign. A lot of films have been remade more than once as well which makes you realise that it isn't just a recent thing in general.

For your consideration thought guys, I've picked out 78 that have been remade and I'm going to list them here for you with the years they were originally made and then remade.

So there's a bit of a list for you to work your way through. Shocking isn't it, these were the "bigger" ones that could be included (obviously I've left out ones I'll be talking in depth about and have already done so) Of course this list doesn't include any foreign language remakes (either way) nor any films loosely based upon other films/TV adaptations nor the copious amounts of early 00's "J-Horror" remakes for the English speaking market.

When we work back through the list, out of the 78, 58 of them are just from the year 2000 onwards!!!

Seriously what is that about?? Has Hollywood run out of ideas?? Did they honestly feel that some of these needed remaking?? I mean have a look through again, two of them had only come out in the 00's, for fucks sake how lazy can you get??

What I will mention thought that one of the films on the list (Funny Games) is actually a shot for shot remake by the original director.

As always, I apologise for the lack of fun and things to look at in this one as it was more about getting the information out to you. I'd say we could easily squeeze out another 3 articles on this, one more based on the horror genre, most notably coming from Platinum Dunes, one on the foreign language remakes we've had to endure and one about upcoming remakes/reboots.

Ermm I am feeling kinda guilty now so....here have this...

Funny isn't it....oh yeah....Hellraiser is in line for a remake....tut tut Hollywood.
